Kenya Safari – The Best Ways To Do It

Safari is the Swahili word for ‘Trip’, and Kenya has long been a destination that has thrived on these types of trips. People from all over the world flock to Kenya in their millions to take full advantage of the safari opportunities.

Game Drive

A Kenya Safari is conducted in many ways. The most common of trips is usually conducted in a 4×4 vehicle or a minivan which drives you in and out of the park usually in the morning around 6a.m. for sunrise until about 10p.m. which is when most of the animals shelter from the midday sun. Game drives usually commence again around 4p.m. until the parks close at sunset around 6:30p.m. This is considered the most common type of safari with tours and accommodation available all year round. Balloon Safari

A safari with a difference. With a balloon safari you get a brilliant view of not only the animals beneath you but a great view of the scenery of the landscape. There is no better way to start a day then in a hot air balloon over the savannah with a glass of champagne, a rising sun and a view of some of the most spectacular wildlife in the world. Balloon safaris are available with most tour operators and operate in some National Parks including the Masai Mara.

Flying safaris

You can actually go one better than a balloon safari and that a flying safari. Fancy seeing a few different National Parks in one day? There is no better way to travel that with a light aircraft. Not only do you get to see the animals from above but when flying between National Parks you get to see the rest of the country from a bird’s eye view.
